Right, I have been scouring the internet for any little tit-bit of information pertaining to the MacBook Pro, much of which I have found from this forum. I thought it would be good to share all these links in a single post so that if there are any other somewhat desperate people such as myself they could read these articles to keep them appeased. This is always the most difficult time to wait: the bit just before and then the long days once shipped before actual delivery.

First one: Interesting comparison between the Intel iMac and the current Powerbook

Second: Just a brief and not too astute article on someone that has seen them.

Third: The 15 minute video which everyone has seen where the rep doesn't seem to have a clue as to what the MBP spec is.

Fourth: the article that says contrary to rumours the intel macs are selling well.

Fifth: The Arstechnica review of the intel iMac, which is nice to refer to to get a feeling of how powerfu the MBP might or might not be...

Sixth: the page on the apple website that details currently available universal applications..

Seventh: the Cnet review of the intel iMac...

Eigth: the MacWorld review of the intel iMac...

Ninth: MacInTouch review of the iMac...

Tenth: Anandtech's article on the Core Duo itself...

I have to stop now as work beckons... I'll add some others later as an edit..

The problem is that no one has seen a file release product. All of the above are prereleased MBP's which doesn't tell us much.
While the hardware specs and the overall design was completed months ago Apple could and probably IS finalizing tweaking of the battery firmware, the EFI, and probably the power management drivers as well. I find it interesting that we haven't seen a single MBP hit the big name review sites. Normally its not uncommon, and pretty much expected, that sites like CNET and such will get an early model to review. Not seeing ANYTHING is getting me somewhat paranoid about what could be holding things up.

I have to agree... my hope is for a MacBook Pro to arrive at my door in the next week, my expectation is that I will not see it until mid-March. Weren't the PowerMac G5s way behind their initial estimated shipping dates when they were first launched?

I just spoke with an Apple customer service rep and he said that Apple is guaranteeing that the MacBook Pro will be shipped by the shipping date listed on the order status page. He said that there is a chance they could ship sooner, but they will absolutely ship by the date quoted.

    That's a very comforting statement. :D

Here's a video I like to watch since it's more "true to life" than just looking at pictures of the MacBook Pro... sad I know, but I need something to help tide me over
