    hey all,
oke i exagerated a little ...it actually takes at least a good 10 sec to sleep.. ive done some reading and saw that the new mbp writes the content of the memory to the HDD before going to sleep but i tried disabling it with the command
    sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0
    which i saw in macworld
but its still taking long to sleep....
it use to work until recently i reformated my harddrive and reinstalled OSX...
any ideas as i would like my mbp to be able to sleep in 1 sec and reopen in 1sec like to good ol' powerbooks..
    thanks!
also, happy new year to everyone!

Well, what apps (if any) do you have running? :)

Sorry, but never going to happen. Some of the new sleep mechanism is in the firmware and not affected by the hibernate switch. I'm not sure why it matters if it takes a bit longer to sleep - care to elaborate?

    hey all,
well i decided to re reformat again, making sure i didnt screw up anything
typed in the command sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0
    removed the sleep image
got 2 gigs of space back
and mbp now sleeps in 2 seconds again

    :)
    im happy
    thanks for the replies though!
    cheers!
