So, there was a little spec of dust on my new MacBook's screen. Like a complete idiot, I removed it with my finger, leaving quite a noticable smudge. So, my mom decided it'd be a good idea to use a really soft cloth, slightly dampened, to wipe it off. Now, there's a ton of tiny scratches all over the place. Yep, I'm a smart person. Is there anything I can do, or am I basically hosed?

buy a micro fiber cloth.... get one side of it wet (with just water...no windex!)

clean the screen a few times with the wet side then buff it dry with the dry side of the microfiber cloth... should help quite a bit...

My old Titanium PBG4 used to get scratches on the screen from the keyboard... literally square scratched all over the screen.... doing this would completely buff out all scratches and it would look brand new... (although that was a matte screen and not glossy)

i still use the microfiber cloth to buff my macbook screen and i have no scratches yet... i also keep it in between the keyboard and the screen when i close the macbook and it stays relatively clean so i dont have to wipe it often...

the particular cloth i bougt was made specifically for powerbooks... it is silver and says Titanium G4 on it... i think i bought it from RadTech years ago...

My GF also uses it to polish her engagement ring! ;)

    Good Luck:)

Edit... this is a newer version of what i use...
