    Hello everybody.

Yesterday my 4 months old white MacBook started to shut down randomly. I've looked on the Apple Forums, and I'm not the only one to have this issue.

I don't have Apple Care (yet).

If I call Apple, about a known problem. Will they make me pay the fee for the issue (you know, more than 90 days after the purchase...)?

Thanks in advance for your help...

    Juan

The MacBooks were released May 16. Even if you got it the same day, there are still two weeks left in the 90 day period.

    Woops.. that's good news!
Coconut Battery told me 4 months, and I didn't corroborate! :D

I'm calling tomorrow, then... By the way... What if I had had it four months? Would I have to pay?

    Thanks... ;)

Luckily, I've never had to call Apple for any issue, but as far as I know, they won't charge you if it's found to be a real problem.

Thank you again for contributing to my relief...

Is there somebody else here who's having the same issue?

The warranty covers all repairs in the first year. If something fails and needs to be replaced then the basic 1 year warranty covers it.
As Someone who bought a first edition machine YOU SHOULD purchase the Extended warranty sometime in the next year, Just to cover your butt. First edition machines have problems more often than the tried and tru "older" machines.
