Anyone any ideas how to go about connecting the new macbook to a TV (with audio)? I know it has a DVI out, but i take it that wont do audio as well.

Will the headphone socket allow video to go out as well as audio?

Any advice on this would be great

Likely you will need 2 connections: DVI->SVideo/Composite adaptor->TV for video and headphones->TV or Amp for sound.

It has audio out....optical out too if I'm not mistaken..

but if you want to just use the headphone jack you can pick up an adapter that splits it into an analog RCA Standard Red/White connection.

They sell them at radio shack and I've seen a few geared towards the ipod.
