Is MacMAME slower than the x86 version, or is it just me?

    Any thoughts appreciated... :)

    Right now: G5 1.6, 768 w/64 vram
    Previous: G4 1Ghz, 512 w/64 vram (noticeable difference)
also: 800Mhz G3 iBook, 650 w/23 vram (not worried about it)

I've heard that the x86 version can run some games full speed that the Mac version cannot, like Outrunners. Is this true?

i'm not sure if it's actually MacMAME, it's probably more to do with the Mac hardware.

    Hey! I have that Newton

BTW, I have that same Newton 2100 setup that your avatar uses. I even have the cool case that holds the keyboard and Newton, turning the whole thing into a mini-laptop. Nice avatar!

Oh, and some games in MacMame are pretty fast. Some work much better than others with the "use OpenGL" toggle. You need to experiment one at a time.
