Is the 1.66 Ghz core duo MacMini capable of playing 1080p HD movies even though it has a intergrated graphics card? Also would 512 mb of Ram be enough?

Probably not enough for anything more than 480p using h.264 since.

For 1920x1080 (1080p) video at 24 frames per second:
    (Macintosh)
    * Dual 2.0 GHz PowerMac G5 or 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo or faster Macintosh computer
    * At least 512MB of RAM
    * 128MB or greater video card

I have a 1.5 core solo 512mb, and I can playback 720p very smoothly. 1080p is very choppy and unwatchable. With the core duo it may be possible but you would most likely need more ram.

FWIW, my Core Duo (original speed) mini with 1GB RAM plays back 1080(i, presumably) recordings from over-the-air HD broadcasts without a hitch.

Listen to the guy who actually has one of these. They play 1080p just fine.
