Cmd-A to Select All, then right/ctrl-click and choose Mark -> As Read (also available from the Message menu).

    Select all, mark as read.

    That'd be my guess.

    Mark all mail read

under Os X Lion you can set up a Smart Mailbox to filter all unread messages then select all, and mark as read.

an hour ago I read that on another thread but can't find it now. It does work. Thanks whoever wrote that reply;)

Right Click the inbox and select "Mark All Messages as Read". Pretty simple.
