    Hello!
I have thought about an app listing apps installed on an iPhone...is it possible to detect the apps installed somehow and to display information about them? I mean something like my own library, making a collection of some of the apps installed on my iphone? Is ist possible to communicate with the appStore to, within an application?
    Thanks in advance!

As far as I am aware the SDK does not support either of these actions.

Thanks for the answer and I suppose that is the reason why I do not find any information about such a feature. Do you know why it is not possible to detect installed apps on an iPhone? This information have to be stored somewhere and making a list based on a specific tag added in an applications would not interfere with the security rules set up by apple, does it?
    Again, thanks!

Well, if you read the documentation, your app can only read from the filesystem within it's own bundle or from it's sandboxed area. So you can't just scan the iPhone equivalent of /Applications. And there is no API call that I know of to list installed apps.

Yes I have heard about those sandboxes and exactly as you wrote, also did I notice that there is nothing like that mentioned in the API documentation ...to bad - I hoped that I had overlooked something. ;)

OK, but I am sure there is a reason not letting apps know about eachother. Do you have a tip where in the documentation I can read more about this (i.e sandboxes and the structure of an app and the iPhone system self)?
