I bet the interrogator was like, "I'm going to make his life so #&@!ing miserable because he's too stupid to put his iPod in his pockey before using the loo."

At least I hope so.

I agree, the guy seemed rather overboard with his questioning. :D

Goodness gracious, what's a terrorist going to do in Canada? Honestly.

Poor guy. Didn't get treated terribly well. Those questions did seem very unnecessary.

Not trying to make this at all political, but the sad part is even after it was clearly established that it was an iPod, and (assuming they talked to the attendants) they knew that he had informed them of this before it had become any kind of an issue, they still felt it necessary to give the poor fellow as hard a time as possible for what was a pretty simple mistake.

I do have to give the guy (assuming the story is true in the details, which I have no reason to believe it isn't) some SERIOUS props for this exchange, which I quote from the long-form post:

That would take some balls, and I only hope that if I'm ever in a similar situation I have the guts to say the same (though I sure hope I never am!), even if it makes zip difference.

I did note that, if he was searching with Spotlight, the guy must be a Mac user.

Oh, and it's sad that he didn't keep the iPod--you just know that if he'd eBayed the thing, some online casino would have paid several thousand dollars for it just because.

I should say so, there is no way that I could have said that to the guy!

I have a solution --> ban toilets! That way we can't drop things in them.

Does anyone have, like, official confirmation of this - not some kid/guy off WoW?

I'm officially calling BS on the story.

Ok... if I combine this with the #1 movie in Canada right now... Does that mean a new movie is coming up?

nope, no conformation, but really, who's weird enough to make up a whole story like this, then post it on some WoW forum just for kicks? if he's BSing, he really must have no life.

If you read the WoW forum posting then you would see the following given as supporting evidence:

Sadly it sounds all too true .. far too much FUD around these days ... I suspect you are more likely to die in a car accident on the way to/from the airport than from anything that could happen on a plane flight!

I stand corrected - I didn't peruse the entire length of the thread.

I am still skeptical of the person's reports of what he said and what the agent said, though.

Additionally I'd rather they land the plane and be safe rather than have pieces of me blown for miles across the Great Lakes.
