I just started a CS course at uni called Software Construction (2nd year) and we use 'C' as our language.

In the labs at uni, we run solaris, and we can access the manpages for C functions straight from the cmd line, ie: 'man rand'. Is there a way to get these pages onto my system, or are they already there? It would be a great help.

    Thanks,
    Sam.

They should be right there in OS X already. Just fire up Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app and type 'man -S 3 rand' (or whatever library function you are after).

    Cool, thanks for that.

Just one more thing...should man pages differ from OS to OS? It's just that the rand man page has a little more 'use' info at the bottom.

Nevermind, as long as they are the c functions.

    Thanks
