Maps: Change turn by turn language?

Hi,

I like to have the language of the device in english, but maps should speak german while using turn by turn. German streets sound funny in english # Is that possible?

sorry that I dig out such an old thread but I was googling the same issue.

but I don't get it to work in iOS 8.1.3 :/ Google Maps App just resets my edited plist to standard settings when I open the app. Any idea why that might be?
