I have an Apple TV 2, does Mavericks allow you to use is as a 2nd display? Or is only the TV 3 supported?

    Streaming

Im also interested how the aTV and Mavericks will behave with multiple displays. Does this mean that I now can use an aTV to watch VLC movies on my HDTV by streaming them via my Mac->AppleTV->HDTV ?

From what I gathered from the presentation, yes.

If this is true then the AppleTV has just been converted to a open source HDTV streaming device. And this is VERY cool!

Hi, yes I had it working on my MB Air 2011 to my ATV2,
It was a bit jerky but that could be down to my wireless network, great feature anyway!
