Hello all. I got a few questions before I decide to make my PB truly replace my main desktop (still PC).

    I have a 17" PB (Rev. D, 1.5 GB of ram)

So, I plan to use my powerbook as a portable too, but I want to set it on my desk when I'm done so the batt would be dead.

I want to plug it in and:

    1) Recharge
    2) Plug in self powered external FW drive
    3) Render FCP project
    4) Plug in KB
    5) Bluetooth would be on for BT mouse
    6) Browse web during render (So AirPort will be on)
    7) Listen to itunes
    8) Recharge iPod via USB (FW being used by drive)
    9) CPU would be on MAX power
    10) Since plugged in, screen on MAX brightness
    11) Rip dvd to self powered external drive
    12) Oh yes, and an external monitor, non-mirrored

So basically, the PB will be using every avaliable resource it has, plus power other external things, and recharge... All from this weee little power cord it has.

    Good idea?

I know that the fans will be roaring too, using more power...

I won't be doing this all the time, but I know I will sometimes.

I've done some rendering using my friend's 12" PB cord (Forgot mine) and my batt said it would take 34 hours to recharge. I know Apple said at times the 17 PB would drain the batt and use the 45 watt cord "During some tasks"... So I know why it said so.

My question is will I be able to keep this INSANE power usage up?

Use a powered USB hub. That will help.
