This week i'm going to be swapping my iMac for a Macbook Pro, and at the same time my mum's gonna buy an apple TV.
My plan was to put all my movies on an external drive and then watch them whenever i wanted on my MBP, however now i'm wondering how said movies would be able to get to the apple TV as i'd imagine i wouldn't have both the MBP and external drive on all the time.
To add to the conundrum all my files are in .avi format so i was going to download boxee to watch them. does that work with external drives?
Any suggestions? we've only got the one external drive in the house and it's mine for backing up and movie storage. what do you think the best and cheapest solution would be?
I have about 150 gigs of movies and 20 of music right now, though that's likely to increase as time goes on. Any help would be much appreciated.
