I understand I have made a thread already reffering to the buzzing on my MBP as well as my MBP damaged during shipping, but there is one more thing that I need to clarify.

So a little background, ordered a refurbed MacBook Pro from the US site around July 25ish. The guy I talked to (salesman) said the MBP was brand new and there were no problems what so ever, just a minor software replacement.

I picked up the laptop on my vacation in North Carolina (I live in Canada). Right when I opened it there was damage to the laptop, the little metal strap right above the button to open was damaged, like someone tried to pry it open. Called up AppleCare, no problem they will fix it.

Something else happened a couple days ago. The buzzing from the machine, it is extremely faint when the power is plugged in, when running on battery it is louder. I havent notified AppleCare about this yet. They told me to send my MBP to the supply depot in Markham Ontario Canada with the damaged undercasing.

Starting yesterday, I suddenly started randomly disconecting from the internet and MSN Messenger:mac 5.0 exits randomly. Does anyone know if this is common? When I bring my MacBook Pro to the supply depot, I want to ask them to replace the undercasing, logic board for the buzzing and hopefully everything will be resolved. As I say again, this is my first mac, hopefully it will not be my last mac.

Thank you for your time, James.

The Ivory Tower (I'm not coming down)
Are you sure your internet disconnects are not due to some environmental issue with airport? I work in the basement of my building and steel building posts interfere with my signal all the time. I don't use MSN Messenger though, so I can't comment on the random disconnects.

Good luck with your logic board. My week 10 MBP apparently already has a "new" logic board in it (it's never been sent back for anything). I will push that issue further if they don't replace it.

I had to call them yesterday about my broken harddrive, which completely broke overnight without warning.

Thank you, I will bring the MBP to the supply depot, sigh today hopefully. It opens at 9 closes at 5 so I will go around 4pm. The main thing right now is the casing which is digusting to look at, seems like a 10 year old had a screw driver and tried to pry the casing open. The logic board i HOPE they replace it, the whining isnt too loud but there is a whine none the less. I guess my laptop was just a lemon or something, MBP's shouldnt have many problems on them.
