Gotta say that my MBP has a very similar problem- it's probably not as pronounced as in the picture you provided, but it does exist in mine.
Thing is, I now have at least 10 friends who have a similar 15 or 17in MBP here, and at least 6 of them have a similar problem. The others- I couldn't say, I've never looked at theirs, and they haven't mentioned it to me.

I believe there's a design flaw that affects the line. It's not just yours. There are probably more threads about it here on MR, and the apple discussion websites.

Don't worry about it too much. It's cosmetic and relatively common.

The three MBPs I went thru over the summer all had a gap like that, too.

Did you get replacements? Well probably not a replacement, but did they fix they case?

...or did you return them all and get refunds :-(

Mine has that problem. Nothing really you can do about it.

Mine has a similar warp on the screen they didn't fix the first time around. They did fix the drooping main body though. The MBP has to go in for lots of other issues so it's in the list of stuff to be fixed. Apple quality, eh? A 2.5 year-old latchless Sony I've got snaps shut with a dead straight screen.
