Just kind of wondering what kind of wear should I expect near the wrist pad section with using the MBP. And if there is noticable wear will Apple replace it like they have with the stained Macbook?

I don't feel like putting any kind of shield in that area just cause I want to keep the nice clean look of the MBP. I do however use an iskin and have no problems using it.

I most seriously doubt so, all those AAPL shareholders will tear Steve a new one if he does that. It is just normal wear and tear.

Some people however do have more acidic :)eek: ) sweat and in about a year or so part of the metal on the wrist rest becomes corroded away. It is perfectly normal. If you rub your skin on a surface day in and day out, short of it being something ridiculous like a diamond it will wear out.

Think of it as adding character to your Mac!

Alternatively you can try the Marware MBP protection pack (or something like that), it comes with this velvety cover that you can cover your wrist rest with. Doesn't look dorky too. I swear!

I'm thinking of getting that, but I wish it didn't have to say MARWARE right across the front of the pad.

It can start to look "pitted", like the silver will wear away to a blackish color. Not very attractive but that's just normal wear and tear, so Apple won't replace that. The Macbook's problem is something else entirely (I think).
