Hi,

I am new to Mac and I was wondering if my 512 MB DDR ram for Dell Inspiron 1100 will work on the Mac Laptop ?

They have the same required spec, e.g. PC2100 CL=2.5, so I assume it will work, but I can't be certain...

Can somebody help me ?

Apple really pissed me off on their iBook RAM. For every computer I have ever used when they specify DDR PCxxxx (SO)DIMM that means exactly what it says, and the RAM works. BUT when I bought a 256MB stick of PC2100 SODIMM apple didn't specify that it needed to be 16x16 and not the standard 64x4, so my RAM was useless. (I can't remember if those numbers were right, but I think so). I then returned the RAM but the company seamed to drop off the face of the earth (went from a 56/56 ebay rating to a rating of like 25 in a few weeks) and I didn't get my money back.

So short answer, maybe but don't count on it.
