I'm looking to add 2gb of memory to a CD MBP. On OWC there are two alternatives for 2gb matched pairs, one looks like OWC brand memory for $255, while the other is a Techworks brand memory for $295. I'm trying to determine the differences and whether the second pair is worth the extra $40. The specs are Greek to me, but I do see that the cheaper brand is dimm and the more expensive brand is sodimm, whatever that means. Please excuse my ignorance but I'm a newby. Can someone tell me the difference and whether it's worth it to upgrade to the more expensive memory? Thanks in advance. Here are the two alternatives:

There's a huge difference between DIMMs and SO-DIMMs, but fortunately it looks like it's just a typo on OWC's page for their own brand. Aside from the two typos in the big description where the "SO-" is missing, everything else on the page indicates that it's SO-DIMM RAM.

For peace of mind, you may want to call or e-mail them to confirm (they're great about customer service), but the $255 kit should be fine. It's their own brand, so they can sell it for cheaper. As long as they claim to stand behind (which they do) and they're a reputable company (which they very much are), it's fine to use it.
