I would like to upgrade my memory in the user access area of my iMac. My research indicates that the maximum memory for my machine is 1GB. Can I add a 1 GB memory stick (and keep the 256 MB memory in the other slot) and not run afoul of this or am I limited to a 512 MB stick which together would keep me under that? Thanks.

    Mac OS X 10.2.8
    iTunes 6.0.4(3); iPhoto 2.0.1; iDVD 3.0.1; iMovie 3.0.3

2.0 GB of RAM for your machine. Yeah, you can put a 1 GB PC2700 DDR SO-DIMM. The internal one will be a bit harder to get.

he has a G4 imac...according to oempcworld, the max he can install is 1 would prolly be better to just put in the 512 mb stick...but ask around before you buy anything...
