    Hello,

A short little travel movie I made is now available online for anyone who wants to check it out.

    http://www.codyb.com/mexicomovie.htm

It was shot on a Cannon ZR-20 and edited on a Powermac G4 Quicksilver.

I would love to hear any thoughts, ideas, comments or whatever.

    much thanks,

    -cody

That's a very good movie!! What applications did you use to edit the footage? That seems like more high end editing, so I'm assuming you used Final Cut Pro, or at least Final Cut Express.

Keep up the good work, you may have a future in this field... :)

I edited "Mexico" with Final Cut Pro 3. I am thinking about upgrading to 4 but I am not sure. Is it worth it? I have been using Final Cut Pro 3 for a while and don't see much need to upgrade.

    Thanks for watching!

    I'd say upgrade to 4--I plan to when I get a G5 :).

How much RAM do you need to run Final Cut 4, I have 256 installed now.

    thanks for watching,

I'm sensing a Lost in Translation influence, here (the opening) A great and colourful film that explores the real Mexico (as opposed to American tourist destinations) My only concern is the music - would have been nicer to have had something like the Kronos Quartet's 'Nuevo' , rather than random American electronica.

I don't know if it would have detracted from the artistic appeal of the short or added to it, but I have found that if you include just a hint of the recorded sound from the camera, you will sometimes really enhance the effect.

Final Cut HD (4.5) requires 384MB, according to Apple. I'm not sure what 4.0 requires.
