When running certain applications or sometimes seemingly out of the blue, my Hard drive (or soemthing) makes a loud buzzing noise that sounds like complete static through my Mac's built-in microphone.

Is there a way (without getting a new mic) to tell the computer to cancel such noise, or reduce such noise as much as possible?

    Thanks

u mean a loud sound coming out from the mic which to me is impossible? or when u using the microphone, there's a loud sound of ur HD that can be heard through speakers etc...?

or wht sound is it like? i don't get ur details here...

Whatever it is, its really loud and this sound is PICKED UP by the microphone, and makes any other normal input indistinguishable.
