Microsoft promises fix for Office 2008 installation issues

    I guess from the discussion of this problem here at MR. I can make some speculation that Most Mac Users (who uses M$ Office) only have one account?

    If there really are only a few files other than directories that need execute permission, it wouldn't be hard to fix this with Unix-level commands. In fact, it's not how many files that matters, just whether you can make a list of the paths and filenames of those files. Then you'd
    1. Set all files within the product's folders to not have execute permission.
    2. Set specific files to have execute permission.
    3. Set all directories to have execute permission.
    Note that execute permission for a directory really means search permission within that directory.

    For better security, most Mac users should have at least two accounts. One an admin account that is used for installing software and modifying the system (Software Updates, etc.) and the other for normal use.
