Microsoft won't launch iPhone rival

    Just Vaporware in 2008. Then they'll have their iPhone 3 killer for 2010 ready in 2012 as a maybe-beta.

    Just remembering, that didn't make the Zune either, Toshiba did the work for them. Gigabeat -> Zune

    Makes sense:

    1. they can't compete with the iPod so why would they launch a phone?
    2. they already license Windows Mobile to other hardware manufacturers

    But remember that Microsoft's "Plays For Sure" didn't preclude them from coming out with their own and incompatible Zune.

    And more to the point, has he publicly commented on the success of the iPhone yet? That would be big crow.
