.mkv video file, quicktime plug-in? conversion?

    Hi, i have a video which is a .mkv off of a pc friend of mine, i have never encountered one before, vlc plays it but i need to convert it to mp4 or something else a bit easier to work with. So, is there any quicktime plug-ins anyone knows of or another way of converting??:confused: help me lol

    sorry guys, done a little research, mkv's arnt very loved! lol, think ill convert it in windows.

    Wow...I read that as "think ill convert to windows." :D

    I don't have any experience with .mkv files, but does this thread help at all?

    Thanks, didnt see that thread, looks easier than the windows method (esp as im crap in windows lol) ill give it a go and post back for future references

    you can also use VLC to play the file if you don't need to get it into itunes or use it in quicktime.
