Well, today my MacBook (CoreDuo) went a bit mad. Firstly, the keys on the keyboard stopped working, whilst other ones would behave erratically i.e. pressing the 'u' key would make the computer type 'yui' or whatever. The 't' button stopped working altogether and frequently the 'g' key would just imput constantly i.e. 'ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg'. Very annoying :(

Well, I phoned Applecare and they made a few notes and now I've to take to a sub-contactor to have it sent off, or looked at or whatever. The thing is this:-

When I restart it, I get a hard-drive type of icon (that fills the screen) bouncing around the screen, its white with a grey background. What is all this about? The weird thing is, if I press the option key down, then it will just boot OSX normally. I'm thinking, does pressing a specific key down make this screen happen?

If so, then I know this is just a keyboard problem and not something worse.

    Ideas?

I have no help or suggestions for you, but I do have an anecdote.

Way back when, my brother and I had an Atari 800XL. When it was cold, the keyboard would be glitchy. If you pressed a key, let's say the "t" key, it would output "ttttttttttttttt". Quite annoying, to say the least.

The fix was to use a blow dryer to "warm" up the keyboard. Imagine that. Processors used to be so slow that you actually had to warm them up.
