More RAM = faster, generally. It's the easiest way to boost performance

Well, looking at Activity Monitor as I do a quick search in Spotlight, there are no dramatic increases in RAM usage but a big change in CPU use by one of the System processes (I forgot which one  ). So, I don't think RAM will really speed up significantly Spotlight because it seems to be a processor-intensive task.
