Oh you guys didn't know....once you get an account support/coordinator position, you are bestowed with a Graphic Design degree. Forget school and years of experience...this is the fast track to being a designer. ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!

At this rate this topic will be wasted by sundown.

Not to mention I have to sponsor a ban tonight against selling newly created folders on eBay. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    LOL!

One of our secretaries quit over a year ago and I am STILL trying to get Comic Sans out of all the forms and newsletters! She even used it on invoices and billings!

my problem was always with Chicago. ****ing hate that font, should have never been created. it's aesthetically horrible! i know, it was designed for easy readability at small sizes. i don't really care. damn, it was on EVERYTHING... the little town that i grew up in, the newspaper editor thought she could do ad-design... and, swear to god, every ad was a 4 point border surrounding 16 point chicago text. i stopped reading the paper. the clients should have complained. the worst part, it was actually used in an episode of The Simpsons, animated! i don't remember where but there it was.

thankfully, it's all but gone, but my FRIGGING IPOD still uses it... the one thing that i hate about it. Charcoal would be better. Anything would be better.

i've never really thought about comic sans, usually i just say "idiot" when i see it used, but it has really gotten annoying.

Arial doesn't bother me as much, because it's so simple. i'd rather they use Arial than any number of overused "theme" fonts...

what ever happened to Palatino? i loved that font. so crisp, so well proportioned...

(I'm surprised this thread didn't end up like "one of those"...)

Charcoal...wow. That got annoying to use in OS 9.

Comic Sans I don't have much of a problem with, except when it's used in multiple colors and appears bright on a dark background. Attractively annoying.

Palatino... rarely do I want to touch serif fonts, but I have recently taken to the likes of Palatino. Especially this demonstration of album artwork (mine), the font is evidently useful:

(If one doesn't work, try the other. Or try both several times.)

I'm surprised people don't like Arial as much as I expect. I think Helvetica, much less the Neue variation, is poorly shaped...as if someone stepped on certain characters of the font and punched in sections of others.

Futura is nice, Myriad Pro is slick, "Hei" is all right, but the " ' " character requires a second font.

My personal favorite is Times New Roman. I prefer serif style.
