Using the motion effect, my iPhone 4S has been overheating and racing through battery today. Using istat2, i have found that disabling the motion effect in settings reduces CPU load from 55% to 8%! Also cools the phone way down.

    Tested quite a few times.

Might be of help to those suffering from bad battery and overheating

This will probably be straightened out for final release, no way they leave the usage in its current state when they're moving toward power efficiency.
