Is there a way to change the movie link on the left pane of the finder window to a different location? I have an external hard drive and I would like it to point it to that external hard drive and then a folder within there. Can this be done?

Everything in the left pane (at least in the lower-left pane) is drag and droppable. You can drag the Movie link that's there out and to the Trash and drag your other location in. In fact, you drag ANY folder into the left pane and it will then show up in the left pane of all folders.

While Freiheit is absolutely correct, I don't think that's what you were after. Sounds like you wanted to keep the ~/Movies folder, but just have it "live" elsewhere than on your internal drive.

The easiest way to accomplish what you seem to want is to make ~/Movies an Alias or symbolic link to the folder on your external drive.

Use a variation of the Share iTunes Library Guide
