Movie Moguls Need to Face the Music

    Good read, but I don't see the movie industry as directly analogous to the music industry. For one thing people consume music differently then they consume movies, creating differing purchase and use patterns. Secondly, I don't if the movie industry feels as much pressure from the illegal trade as much as the music industry did. Thirdly, there isn't a great volume of worth while movies to own or rent relative to the 90 or so minutes it is required to devote to enjoy it. Where as musically, there are alot of wothwhile songs to own (renting hasn't taken off) that only require 4 or 5 minutes to enjoy, passively at that.
