I have an XP box with a 70 GB iTunes (XP) library on a drive. I've made this into a network drive that my PowerBook can access. I'd like to switch the library over to iTunes on my Mac (keeping playlists, ratings, etc), but keep the files located on the network drive rather than copy them to the PB's drive. Is this possible? If so, how do I do this?

Try this:

In iTunes' preferences, under the Advanced tab, deselect Keep iTunes Library Organised. Now, drag the network folder into iTunes. I've never personally done this but I can't think of anything else. :)

That imported the tracks but not the ratings, play counts, or playlists. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Now copy the file called iTunes Library Data in the network drive and replace the iTunes Library Data file in your Mac's iTunes folder (in the Music folder). :)

Hope this works.
