i'm about to sell my mac, then buy a new one soon. the one thing that concerns me is moving over my iphoto albums and itunes playlists. do i just save the itunes library file and the album data file? To implement them on my new mac, do i just add these files into the same spot? Also, is there anything else i should save?

    Thanks

I would do a complete backup to an external hard disk using SuperDuper or similar. When you get your new Mac you can use the assistant to transfer all your settings and libraries from the external hard disk to your new Mac. Easy and painless.

If it's possible to get the new machine before the old one leaves you could always use Migration Assistant to make things totally painless.

I second that. Migration Assistant is the easiest, most painless way you can do it. Otherwise, I dont think copying just the data / library file will work. You need the actual files too

Agreed, but if you can't get the new system first then refer to my previous post - the migration assistant works from backups on external drives too.
