Okay so I have World of Warcraft installed on my PowerBook G4, but tomorrow my sexy mac pro quad arrives. I really do NOT want to have to install all those CDs again... and I dont want to then have to download and apply the 700Mb 2.0.1 patch as well! I have an external hard drive. Anyone know if copying the WoW App folder to the enternal drive, then back onto the Mac Pro will work? WoW is supposed to be universal so it should run, but no idea if it'll like being moved from one machine to another...

That will work fine. I did the same thing with an external drive on my Mac Pro.

I don't see why not... I could only find one file outside of the WoW folder, in <user>/library/caches/world of warcraft, but I bet the app would create it on the new machine. Try it and let us know!

I recently burned my whole WoW folder to a DL DVD so my sister in another state wouldn't have to download everything(she has SLOOOOWW internet) ans it worked fine.

That's a great idea. Instant backup too :) Right I'll do that...

hook your powerbook up in FW target disk mode and just copy it over.

i added WoW to my powerbook from my iMac this way. no problem and much faster than downloading all the patches and going through 5 discs.
