    Hi all,

After doing several searches on the forums, I am having trouble narrowing down what the best freeware program would be to convert .mpg movies to .avi so I can use them in iMovie.

    Suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance, as I am new to my mac.

I use VisualHub which was built on ffmpeg. But as mentioned earlier, VisualHub isn't free app.

Videobox gives you a 5 day trial, a video capture tool, but it works for doing multiple conversions at the same time also.

If you think it isn't working for .mpg files, just rename to .mpeg
