Hi, I have just got a new mac mini to be used as a media centre and so far it is great. The only small issue I have is that when I turn the machine on it gives out multiplt chimes, the first time I noticed it I had maybe 5 chimes, the next time it booted fine, then I had 3 chimes. I know the chimes are to do with PRAM sometimes but I havn't reset it!

Anyway if anyone can tell me exactly what is going on I would be very grateful. BTW the mac mini makes such a cool media centre!

Three POSTs (chime sound) on start up usually means that a stick of RAM has been identified by OSX but cannot be used. Are you confident enough to re-seat the memory stick? :)
