Hey, a reed instrument's a reed instrument. As long as your embouchure is good you should have no problem.

The sound of the sax is just so rich and mellow...great stuff.

I am a professional bassoonist who play(s,ed) clarinet and saxophone for about 12 years now. Don't do much sax work except when I play musicals now. I'm slugging my way through a doctorate in music right now. Hopefully, I only have one more year left.

Just so you know, clarinet/sax/flute fingerings are very similar.

    Good Luck to you!

Good luck.:p Anywayz, I don't think the bassist is the best musician in the band, I think its the drummer. I've never heard anyone handle odd time signatures like he does.

I play guitar and bass. I also use (rather than play) a Midi keybord alongside with Cubase on my Pentium 3 laptop which sucks. Only an orange vocoder can eat up the 20% of the CPU. These sequencers seem like they need a Pentium 8 or a G7 to run well.

Also speaking of musicians, is there anyone who plays drums in the Miami Florida area, and wants to be in a band?

    Re: musical instruments!

Hey! What's wrong with piano? :D

I held a Coronet for 5th grade summer band and made people believe there was a dying animal in the neighbourhood. I did much better at acoustic guitar, even though it didn't work out either.

I've played the piano since I was 6 - and started to play the guitar when I was 16. I'm 32 now, have been in a few bands, but now just coast along and play for my own enjoyment (and for my little boy, Oscar - he loves "The Wiggles", and "Gorillaz"!).

It's the ego thing, it comes with playing the trumpet

I'm also a member of the Internation Trumpet Guild

The trumpet is a very noble, prestigious instrument, and it has historical importance too... Trumpets have also been known to knock down walls :D

<sarcasm> I believe that it's the best instrument, and nobody has to agree, but then hey, nobody's perfect :p :D </sarcasm>
