Today, I was trying to write an essay for my English class. I was using Pages when suddenly my entire essay highlighted suddenly. I can't just click to get rid of the highlight like any other time, it gets stuck like I'm holding down the primary mouse button. The only way to resolve the issue is by putting my mac to sleep, then resuming. I use a 27" iMac mid 2011, I have a magic mouse and touch pad. Please if anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

I haven't seen this behavior. I assume it persists after re-booting. Have you tried re-pairing both pointing devices and trying them one at a time? Also, do you have a wired mouse or trackball you can try? Is your Mac out of warranty?
