You need a 5.25" firewire enclosure. Pretty much any one will do, and many are no-name brands, but don't let that worry you.

I think your eMac is FW 400 only (the normal firewire standard), as opposed to the newer, faster FW 800. But again, FW 400 is perfectly fine and is the way the majority of users hook up external burners and hard disks.

I'm not sure if OS X currently has drivers for this DVD burner, but a free utility called 'Patchburn' will easily do that for you. Find it at macupdate or versiontracker websites.

Hi, what proc. size i.e. 700 or 800 GHz ? Not that it matters since eMacs had 400 FW at that time. My 800 eMac has 400 FW.
Once your in Sysytem Profiler just click on the word Firewire and it should display the bus speed to the lower left...enjoy ;)

Firewire 400 is the one on the right. You have it. Get a 5.25" inch enclosure with it.

    If he's got a 700 or 800 GHz eMac, he's probably got FW 400000 :)
