The nano keeps charging but theres no icon in itunes or on the desktop showing its there. i tried doing what apple.com says which is reset the nano, restart computer, delete and download itunes, and it still wont recognize it. what should i do???

Are you trying to use a firewire cable to connect the iPod? That doesn't work and will only charge the iPod.

Did you use the ipod updater to reset the nano?

Is this the iPod Updater in iTunes or is it a separate app? Since iTunes 7.0, iPod's firmware is managed through iTunes rather than the separate iPod Software Updater. :)
