Sorry for the stupid thread title, I didn't know how to exactly describe my problem.

So here's the story, I have a 5G iPod classic 30GB and it's been serving me well since 2006. I haven't dropped it much, battery is stable and all the good things. All in allm, it works perfectly fine.

This summer (like 3 months ago) I plugged it into my Mac to transfer some new songs and all of a sudden a got a message in iTunes (see attachment)

I've never gotten it before but I just figured I'd restore the iPod (format it) and copy all the songs from iPod_Control to my Mac and then copy them again to the iPod...ONE FOLDER AT A TIME!!!

A couple of days ago, my Ipod crashed again (out of nowhere) and now I have to restore it again!

This process was tedious and I really don't want to go over it again, so is there any way to do this with an app or something?

    Thanks

Why are you copying it back to your computer? Isn't all your music in your iTunes so you can just sync it back?

Because I've switched through 3 laptops in the past 3 years (all of which have a different music collection) and my iPod is a collection of music from all 3, plus numerous friends computers and songs from their computers

Then use senuti, and consolidate it onto one computer.

You don't get it...the iPod needs to be restored, meaning that my iPod doesn't have any songs that can be listened to from the iPod directly, it shows 0 songs...but the songs still exist in the root folder...it hasn't been formatted per se but it is acting like it has been erased...Senuti won't help me in this matter

I need a program that would transfer the songs from my root folder to my iPod
