Hi people... this is my first post, and boy do I have a story for you guys! :)

At this stage I think I'll keep it brief and not go into too much background... Basically, 2 weeks ago yesterday, I bought my first ever Mac computer - a 1.83GHz Macbook...

Today, 2 weeks and 1 day later, I returned to my trust Mac store to hand back my fourth DOA machine, and a big frown on my face... The machines were used (during the time they were actually operational) for word processing and internet use under OS X, and audio production under Windows (Boot Camp)...

I'm still waiting to hear back from the store about what they'll be doing for me by way of a proper working replacement... I won't go into the details of each machine dying just yet, at this stage I'd just like to get an overall picture of whether anybody has ever heard of such a ridiculous situaiton happening before, and what I can expect from Apple in response? Do they generally just keep throwing the same model at you or will they try and give me a different model?

Because 2 weeks without the reliable and stable machine I thought I was buying is getting me a little hot under the collar...

Doesn't DOA (Dead On Arrival) mean it never worked? Oh yeah, from what I've read Apple will get it right in time. Just be persistant and polite.

They'll get it right. You may want to ask them to ship a nw one direct from manufacturing in China. Got mine from there 45 days ago, and it has been flawless. If you haven't already done, make sure you increase the RAM
