This weekend, I purchased my first airsoft gun, I did not know what I was getting myself into. So I purchased a rather cheap and simple one. I am having such a blast (no pun) with this gun. I already ordered an electric desert eagle. The model I got is a spring loaded, USP with laser site.

Airsoft: Paintballing except with hard plastic pellets. Does as much damage as a paintball does, just people are more attracted to it because the guns are much more realistic.

Airsoft gun: a gun that shoots PVC pellets or painballs.

USP: A type of gun by Heckler and Koch. It comes in many different models. There is a USP in the popular FPS Counter Strike.

I believe Airsoft was first introduced in Japan as a cheaper alternative to paintball. A few manufactuers paint the flash suppressors orange/red to distinguish in public that the weapon is not real for obvious reasons.

I personally prefer Lazer Tag, because you can't acccidentally lose an eye. However, I've never played airsoft, or paintball for that matter. I'm sure it's a lot of fun, but I'd rather not get hit by anything, really.

    Be safe, and have fun!

i have an airsoft MP5-SD, and used to have a airsoft Sig p228, but the airsoft looked too much like my real Sig P228, so i got rid of that.

airsoft is fun, but nothing beats a good 50 cal.
