might be about time to move :(

last night while my girlfriend and I were watching a movie... we heard some commotion outside... looked out the window and we were swarmed with cops...

turns out that our neighbor was wanted for shooting a retired police officer.... scary stuff. I had just talked with the guy about a week ago...

the guy on the right was my neighbor.......

So let me guess....you live close to each other.

Wow, thats crazy, but I wouldn't move. What are the chances of living in the same neighbourhood as two men who would commit such an act? Chances are, the answer is zero. Since the crazy in your neighbourhood is going to jail, you probably live in one of the safest neighbourhoods around. ;)

That's, hmm, how to put it, a bit freaky?

Wow, zed and eye have danced with the devil lightly but don't worry, his tails on fire now...

Not totally close to each other. The police officer lived around the block from my dad, and zed lived next door to one of the arrested.

The arrested individual, who lives next door to zed, went to high school with me.

    like I said...small world...

The one on the right looks scarey. I'm glad to hear that you are OK! Hopefully he will stay in prison for a long time!

not to worry now, but that is pretty crazy. i wouldn't move for THAT, its not like people are going to drop by the neighborhood to get murdered by him, like if there was a crack house or something. Plus, any neighborhood deserves as many upstanding citizens that feel reasonably safe as it can get. Good thing it happened at night...bosses tend to think the "i'm late because my neighbor was getting arrested" excuse is shady. Couple years ago they were chasing a rapist near my apartment and blocked all the streets, from like 7-10 am...luckily I live in LA so all i had to do to prove it was say "turn on the tv"...and remind them what neighborhood i live in:)

I think the thing zed's talking about is that he & his girl just moved to New Orleans back in November. It's just a bit much to take in when u aren't used to t hat sorta thing, esp when it's a new place where u live.

this kind of stuff happens all the time so it's not so "creepy" or "freaky." I'm sure it shook you up having it happen right next door to you, but take it as a wake up call.

Small world indeed - that's just freaky. I've not ever been that close to something like that - weird.

But since he's going to be gone for a while, you probably don't have to worry about moving quite just yet.

Anybody remember The World According to Garp?

Plane crashes into the house they are looking at buying, and Garp immediately says he'll buy the house.

Because what are the chances the house will be struck by a second plane.

Did you get his autograph, or at least borrow something from him before he got arrested? I don't think he'll be needing his stuff for a while. Just ask a cop if you can go in there and take a PS2 game. C'mon, nobody will know. ;)

im not really shaken about it..... just a little creepy is all. No i dont have pictures of his house.... but i can say that his is the only one on the street that has the bars in the windows and the cage around the front door. I guess if you choose to live that sort of life... you have to prepare for it. What gets me is that this guy kills the police officer and then just goes home like nothing ever happened. Guess he thought nobody saw him...

Something like that happened in my neighborhood in Tampa. I don't know if any of you remember in like '97 about the Valessa Robinson case. Her and her boyfriend (forget his name) conspired to kill her mother while they were on acid in denny's. They stabbed her repeatedly, put her in a garbage can and left her on the side of the road. Then they went driving to Mexico and were arrested in Texas. The <sarcasm> lovely lady </sarcasm> was only sentenced to 20 years.

I grew up in Tampa but don't remember that case. Of course, I was in Gainesville at the time.

I knew someone who was murdered though. She was shot by her husband, after she left him (apparently she'd been cheating on him too). She was one of my dad's ex-employees (my dad fired her for stealing medical cocaine from his office) and a druggie. It was all really weird. He only got 20 years also.

Eye drops and throat & mouth is usually where it's used. It's a local anesthetic.

Alia, your dad is either an optometrist or an ENT specialist, right?

Just as good as the chances the first one hit with. Which are obviously not too good ;)
