Purely hypothetical, but who would you want to be president and why? It has to be someone we all know. My vote would be for Ted Koppel because I think he is honest, intelligent, and above all... sensible. :)

    Under the existing system,
You can't get to that level of power unless someone has a way to control what you do. Some skeleton in your closet.

I'm having a tough time thinking of anyone who is truly worthy of our trust that would be crazy enough to want the job the way things are.

Even so, it would be interesting to say the least if Steve Jobs were to consider the position.

    Oprah.

No, seriously though, I don't trust any of you people. I'm sure Steve would do a good job cleaning up the messes left by his predecessors, but only if he's gotten over that whole tyrant thing. M$ would get sued a lot by the Dept. of Justice though I'd bet. With Woz as VP because he's just crazy enough to do it.

I dunno, or Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

Watching their shows, those 2 seem to have a better grasp of politics than most elected officials. All joking aside, I think they'd make good presidents.

Wesley Clark, He isnt a politician ( thank god ) he is smart intelligent and not partison, he also is a humanatarian not a war monger like what we have at the moment. He would make a excellent president in this time period.

No one's gonna nominate Steve Jobs?

Oh yea, that's probably even more government secrecy than we have now!

I could live with Wes Clark, or Russ Feingold. It's too bad Paul Wellstone is dead.

I can just imagine the marketing spin he would give to something like invading North Korea. He's a master at it and would have everyone convinced it's the best thing to do.

Maybe W. should hire him as a consultant.

my choice for the american pres would be Saddam. A decade or two of brutal oppresion would remind you people why democracy is to great and keep you from squandering it again.

    Sorry for the downer :p

Captain Kirk at the helm of a country should make anyone drop a load into their shorts, worked for Reagan.
