I updated my Nano 6g to v1.2 of the system software yesterday.

Last night I decided to compare the Nike+ foot sensor accelerometer to the internal one enabled for runs by 1.2 software. I ran on a treadmill.

Good news! They seem very comparable.

    See http://sandiway.blogspot.com/2011/10/apple-ipod-nano-6g-v12.html for the details.

Just as FYI: Treadmills are notoriously inaccurate. Using them for any kind of distance comparison to "the real distance" is worthless. However, their inaccuracy should be the same at all times so therefore comparing device to device is valid.

    Sweet,

This was my biggest question regarding the new Nike+ features of the nano. I typically run on a treadmill and was unsure as to the necessity of the Nike+ kit.

    Thanks for the info.
