and the lawsuits keep coming. So a few early adopters have had 'bad' experiences with their Nano, and yet more people bought them? Apple definitely made a mistake with their material specification, despite claims "it's the same type as before", but I doubt they'll do it again.

No idea how many people we are talking about, but it should be cheaper than iBook logic board replacements.;)

I know it's the same material, I think what they're not telling us is that the mixture is a bit softer than usual for one reason or another.

and so you're saying this is an issue at the manufacturing end, that is a moulding process fault? Looks like somebody will be paying.

I would think short lead times from factory to retail outlets are one factor to blame, as quality control problems are more likely to not get spotted until shortly after the product is launched.

How many are filing against Apple, exactly? I'd like to get a better idea of just how many people are jumping on this bandwagon.

Why oh why didn't Apple go with the iPod mini form factor. Mine's 18 months old with nary a scratch. My nano still has the plastic covering the front.

Maybe the next nano revision we'll see a return to aluminum and quartz crystal.
