    Hi,

I debated putting this into the iTunes discussion forum but since I need help, I've decided to post here.

Anyways, I recently got a flash memory mp3 player and after transferring my mp3s from my PowerBook to the player, found that they did not work. At first, I thought the ._ files were causing the problem but after a series of trial and error, I think that it might be because of the random coding in the Comments box within iTunes. However, I can't see any of it on the Mac. I ended up deleting all the Comments stuff using WinAmp on my Windows computer and found that the file started to work fine. My question is, is there a way to delete all that stuff in the Comments box on the Mac? Thanks in advance!

if you want to delete the comments the easiest way is to select all the songs that you want to delete it from. control click/right click > get info > check off the comments box and make sure its empty and that should delete them all for the selected songs.

Well, er, it's not exactly like that. What I mean is that all that jumbled up code in the Comments box that I can't see in iTunes on the Mac, I can see in WinAmp on my Windows comp for some reason. So I need help deleting that hidden code....

but is it in the ID3 tag? if so that is all you have to do. (remember selecting multiple tracks, which likely have different stuff in each comment box, will leave the field blank) checking off the comments box when selected like this and leaving it empty should delete all that info from the ID3 tag...

ok, well, all of the files have nothing in the comments box in iTunes on the Mac but I figured I would give the Comments erasing idea a shot, so I made copies of all the files I want to transfer and used iTunes to blank everything except the track titles, artist name, album name, year and track number. So far, it seems to be working, so thanks for both of your help!
