I did a quick search on tis site, but when looking at the first two pages I could find nothing to help me. I have had my 15" 1.25 PB for two years now and I am in dire need of a new battery. By default, I will just buy from the source, unless you good people know of a better place to pick one of these up.

Just out of curiosity, what kinda of battery life are you getting now? I haven't had a mac long enough to know, and the only other laptop I've had is my 3+ year old dell which is down to 1 hour life, not that it was every really that much better. So sad so many of us kids about to go college are so dumb at the time and think Dell is the way to go...

    Battery life on an iBook

I have an iBook G4 rev A and am down to about 25 mins. light use (Airport on) before the low power warning appears. The battery is down to 1 Amp according to iBatt. This is after 2 years+ of hard use including I guess 500 full recharges and quite a few full discharges too. So I'm happy with the battery's performance.

Until six weeks ago the battery was still doing okay, but it's deteriorated rapidly after a couple of full discharges. Careless :( .

While I've had several macs throughout my life, this is the first that I've ever bought (mommy bought the others)...so my knowledge of general upkeep was zilch when I first bought it. I had no idea about calibrating the battery correctly and consequently killed my bettery. Its been getting about a half hour for over a year now. Tough way to learn a lesson, but it will never happen again.

So - anyone know where to pick one up?

The last link was neat - made me want to experiment, but I'm not as electrically savvy as dood in the page. I do, however, have an almost new 12" PB battery, and was wondering just how different could it be (internally) from mine?

I might end up using crazyeddie's site, even though the prices are the same as apple.
